2011

Well folks, this is the year. In five short months, I will be graduating high school (and FSCJ with my A.A.). Can you believe it? I certainly can't. Because there is so little time before I graduate, I wanna share a bit of what I've learned since my 2009 "Reflections" post, and give you a glimpse of my goals for this year.

Live like God is alive in your life.
This is THE most important thing I've learned this year. Do you all realize, and I mean truly REALIZE, that our God is NOT dead? He is alive. He is victorious over death and the grave. He defeated sin. He defeated temptation. He defeated satan (whose name I don't even see fit to capitalize). He is the One who lived purely, loves unconditionally, and saves mercifully. He is the One who knows EVERYTHING about you (even the gory, nasty, horrible stuff) and still loved you enough to die for you on a cross so long ago. But the amazing news that makes Him so different from any other "god" the world has to offer is that HE. IS. ALIVE. And realizing that the One who paid your debt (the blood that you owed Jehovah God) is alive and present in your life changes everything. Or at least, it should change everything. It should change how you act when faced with criticism or harsh words. It should change how you deal with hurtful situations and how you react to praise and compliments. It should change how you do your schoolwork, it should change your thoughts about others, it should change how you handle temptation. It should change your entire life. So this year, I'm choosing to live because my God is alive.

My New Year's Resolutions:
1) Complete the Podrunner "First Day to 5K" program. (I started it yesterday, and you can email me to get my blog on how that's going.)
2) Blog once a week like my beautiful cousin from Miracles This Week did last year.

I know this was a very short post, but expect to hear more from me this week! Until then, dear readers.
