I'm so sorry, guys. I haven't had time to get on the computer, and I've been wanting to write this blog since Sunday.
I always love to watch different ministers of our church do the baptisms on Sunday night. Oddly enough, every time one of the international ministry's pastors does the baptism, I always have something to blog about. Anyway, during the baptisms, everyone has their little quirky way of announcing how we're buried with Christ and raised in His resurrection. Well, on Sunday night, instead of asking "Have you asked Jesus into your heart?", he asked "Do you REALLY love Jesus?"
Now, everyone found this funny because of his thick accent...but it made me think. The question of "Have you asked Jesus into your heart" is a good question to ask, but I prefer "Do you REALLY love Jesus". Think about it - it's easy to get baptized and say that you "accepted Jesus"...but when faced with the question "Do you REALLY love Jesus", it's a little different, don't you think?
You know that being saved means being covered by the blood of Jesus and being forgiven for your sins...but do we realize the weight of that? It's easy to give in to temptation using the excuse that we've already been forgiven for it. But if you REALLY love Jesus, why would you break His heart like that? It doesn't make sense.
I just thought that was something to think about.
